Leena Alam

Picture
Leena is an award winning Afghan film, TV and theatre actress and human rights activist. She is mostly known to have worked in subjects that speak about child marriage, gender equality, women's rights and social conflicts. Her notable works on these subjects are "Shereen" and "The Killing of Fakhunda". She believes that the arts can be a great tool to educate and bring about change in societies that are torn apart by war, poverty, and illiteracy like Afghanistan.
